A Fresh Beginning

Well as you've no doubt noticed, there's very little here.

This will change, the site will get more polish etc - though what really will be key is content.

I've been using linux in post-production for around 4 years now and I'd like to share what knowledge I've gained and hopefully encourage others to share theirs. While linux is fairly widely used within post production circles there's more we could be doing with it.

The plan for this site is to detail the various tools available within linux and how they can be used. This will be anything from specific tools right up to overall architecture and discussions of workplace attitudes towards linux. Some of these things will be simple and proven others will be more along the lines of a discussion of how we can make the most of newer technologies as they become available.

What I'd like to hear from everyone is what items are of interest to you. Where should we start? With approaches to ease the transition from windows for artists? Colour management and calibration within a linux environment? Coding toolkits and IDEs? Or even better if you have another query.

I'm also interested in hearing from anyone interested in contributing articles here.
